Browser Extension Privacy Policy

This privacy policy describes how the Arcanna Browser Extension ("the Extension") handles user data.
Summary
The Extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. It acts solely as a bridge between your browser and your organization's self-hosted Arcanna instance.
Data we collect
None. The Extension does not collect, track, or send any user data to Arcanna or any third party.
Local storage
The Extension uses your browser's built-in extension storage (browser.storage) to persist two values that you explicitly provide during setup:
- Frontend URL - the address of your Arcanna UI.
- Backend URL - the address of your Arcanna API.
These values never leave your browser. They are used exclusively to load your Arcanna instance inside the Extension's side panel.
Authentication
Authentication is handled entirely by your organization's Arcanna instance through the embedded interface. The Extension itself does not access, intercept, or store your credentials or session tokens.
Browser permissions
The Extension requests the following permissions:

No permission is used to read, modify, or monitor your browsing activity or page content.
Analytics and telemetry
The Extension contains no analytics, telemetry, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs.
Third-party services
The Extension does not integrate with or send data to any third-party service. All communication occurs directly between your browser and the Arcanna instance URL you configure.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share any data because we do not collect any data.
Changes to this policy
If this policy is updated, the new version will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
